I really like the Hitchhiker's Guide movie - allow me to point out that every time the story has been adapted, Adams changed most of the second act every time, to screw with fans. The book, both radio shows, the game, and the movie all open and end at the same point with middles that go WILDLY off in different directions, based on whatever ideas he had at the time that he wanted to use. And, like I said, because he enjoyed making fans rage.

I knew this going in, and was actually hoping they would do the same, since Adams only managed to cowrite two thirds of the script before his passing. And it turns out, it did! So I was happy.

Awesome Podcast guys! :)  Just finished listening to it, I definately agree with your choices for worst comic-to-movie adaptations. Memories of Batman and Robin are still painful, hehe!

@KVI - Hm... Booth Dudes, eh? I may have to think about that one... ;)

I'm not opposed to pretty girls being used to sell products; what I'm opposed to is the fact that there are a million pretty geek girls who know what they're talking about and would do a way better job. There's also the fact that the Booth Babes are pretty much the antithesis of everything a geek girl is (and, I hope, the antithesis of what every geek guy wants in a girl).

@Cat - Maybe you should petition for Booth Dudes! :) I feel you though. On one hand, I like to watch, but on the other side ,It's demeaning as a fan for them to think " oh , let's just throw a hot chick at the nerds, and they'll be putty in our hands" I think I've heard something similar about Olivia Nunn on the an earlier podcast. I think you'd hate the Tokyo shows though. They have specific times where were they actually line up the girls so you can look at them!

I can't believe I didn't think of this when we were recording... but, you know what I REALLY HATE? Booth Babes. The ones who are hired to look pretty and "make conversation" at conventions, even though they know nothing about the games they're promoting. Hate. Hate. Boiling Hate.

I knew that KVI, I always felt that was a common belief among fans of Dune who are familiar with the book. It almost goes without saying...
