In Texas Polish jokes get repurposed as Aggie jokes.

And I think Kristin did well pronouncing Zbigniew [Zbeeg-nyef?] anyway! :-)

@ Jvegi

Anyway, it's nice to hear you guys talk about Poland on your podcasts every now and then. Although it's kinda annoying when you mispronounce polish names...

It doesn't bother me they can't pronounce Polish names well, since they don't know Polish or even Latin it may be tough for them. Bad Polish jokes bother me more, because they're just really bad... Leon, dude, tell us some jokes! ;-)

Leon, I am a huge fan of radio drama. And to answer Randy's question there are definitely currently produced audio drama being made for podcast. I know because I produce one. The Lovecraftian soap-opera The Unspeakable and the Inhuman (just scroll to the bottom to listen from the first episode).
And check out Audio Drama Talk to find a whole slew of stuff that's being produced now. Does Spill have and audio drama group? Maybe I should start one.

Oh, that Shadow movie - such a sore point for me. I love campy stuff, but the people who made that movie knew nothing of the character. That line that was quoted, "Watch it, Mister. You're talking about the USA." is directly at the center of my sore spot as well. The Shadow is a mysterious force of nature. He doesn't care about nationality or politics. He's beyond such things. Imagine if they made a movie of The Specter and he quoted that line and you'll get a sense of my outrage.

And my only real problem with the Dick Tracy movie is that it wasn't violent enough. Seriously. You ever read the original comic strip. Innocent people get murdered all the time. And Tracy is not above shooting a guy in the face. And the cartoonist Chester Gould was not above drawing a guy getting shot in the face.

And you want a different take on Peter Pan? Performance poet Khary Jackson (aka 6 is 9) has a piece called Captain Hook that explains that Hook's hostility at Pan stems from his initial sexual obsession and Pan's manipulation and then disregard of that obsession. The part where Hook loses his hand in this version is really, really disturbing. And you can listen to it here.

Here is a website I found a long time ago that does podcast radio dramas like you guys suggested. A lot of them are based on DC Comics, Star Trek, Star Wars, etc. I haven't listened to very many so I'm not sure if they're any good. Just passing along information: http://www.pendantaudio.com/

I'm probably one of the few people on the planet who has never (and I mean never) understood the appeal of Peter Pan, even as a kid.

Madonna actually de-ages herself by feeding off the life-force of her cursed lovers. Much like the Japanese Hone-onna, her true form is one of a skeletal ghoul, but she takes on the guise of a beautiful woman to attract and seduce unwitting suitors and slowly drain all their power and energy away.

You want proof? Go ask JFK Jr how that worked out for him. Or Warren Beatty. Or Vanilla Ice. Or Dennis Rodman. Or David Blaine. (Sean Penn got out early enough to only suffer a career slump, which he's since pulled himself out of).

Be afraid. Be very afraid. :)
