Well since my main mac is still melting I'll just have to TYPE the review out for you guys.

I am a DIEHARD fan of the show. It IS my favorite cartoon! Better than 90's Batman and all the other classic Saturday Morning gems. When I heard it was gonna be made into a live action movie based on season one and directed by M. Night, I couldn't help but be nervous.

I walked in thinking this was going to be worse than a trip to the dentist mixed with diarrhea while being forced to watch Twilight. SURPRISE SURPRISE...... it wasn't THAT bad.

Now I WON'T fault the movie for being different from the show. (Otherwise I'd have to write a whole darn book on the subject.)

I WILL fault the movie for having poor editing, terrible narration (Seriously, Katara, SHUT THE HELL UP!!!! SHOW! Don't TELL! This ain't a book.)

Also, NONE of the children can act their way out of a wet paper bag. The kids try to give these big epic speeches to make the movie seem like the next Lord of the Rings or Star Wars and it feels like a bad school play.

But there is good news.

The movie is really... pretty. It's just nice to look at when the characters walk into a new location. The sets and the costumes and even some of the fights are all quite pleasant to look at.

My favorite scene had to involve The Blue Spirit. That was a a lot of fun and I could really feel the directors love of spooky horror movies in that scene.

All in all the movie is far from terrible. MUCH better than Transformers 2, Dragonball Evolution, Open Water, Inglorious Bastards and The Dark Knight (Yes I HATED Dark Knight, get over it.)

I give The Last Airbender a low Rental. If you NEED to see it just wait for it come out on video.

but really, why did they change every other characters name? Instead of Avatar AANG it's ONG?

Or is it Ohng? Or Ooohohohng? it's pronounced like Hong kONG, or Cheech and ChONG, or "Ty Lee looks good in a thONG." or "Excuse me while a take a hit on this bONG."

The name changes were just distracting.
