Lady Gaga Joins Cast Of 'Machete Kills'
They thought they had seen the last of Machete, they were dead wrong. And by "they," I of course mean everyone who saw 'Machete.' Undaunted, Robert Rodriguez has been hard at work on the sequel 'Machete Kills.' Danny Trejo will reprise his role as the assassin/gardener/b-movie throwback, and will be joined by a combo of returning characters and new faces. In addition to Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez coming back, the cast has grown by the likes of Amber Heard, Sofia Vergara, Cuba Gooding, Jr., and Mel Gibson. Recently, via Twitter, Rodriguez alerted us all to another, very surprising addition. Here's what he said...
'I just finished working with @LadyGaga on @MacheteKills, she kicked SO MUCH ASS! Holy Smokes. Blown away!"
This tweet was accompanied by the reveal of her character poster, included below. Evidently she'll be playing someone called La Chameleon. I find this moniker quite fitting considering she wears so many bizarre costumes in her stage shows and music videos that I honestly have a hard time figuring out what Lady Gaga actually looks like. Obviously, there is the possibility that Lady Gaga's casting is a desperate attempt by Rodriguez to capitalize on her popularity and get a few more asses in the seats when 'Machete Kills' hits theaters. However, we've seen plenty of instances in which musicians turn out to be decent if not legitimately gifted actors. Deborah Harry, Mos Def, Common, and especially Tupac. Crap, maybe the key to the crossover is rap. In any event, Lady Gaga is theatrical enough in her shows to make me think she can at least deliver quippy lines and look dramatic.
What do you guys think? Any faith in the prospect of Lady Gaga as an actress? Anyone stoked for 'Machete Kills?'

I have no idea if she can act, but based on the pic she at least has the look down. Maybe they will play to that and have her say a few lines.

come on, Machete was an awesome movie! take it for what it truly was trying to be, and its a blast! now this, i find this hilarious and should be great.
and to whoever wrote this post, Mos Def was great in The Italian Job, stop hating. and Common is a cool dude. hes not a bad actor, but hes better than anyone who was in Takers, ugh

i can see it. not a Gaga fan really but she strikes as a person who really puts her heart into all her performances so i could see her as being a really good actor

Gaga is a great artist. She does an incredible job with her music, her videos, and her tours. I've seen her in concert twice, both in arenas, and she is truly a talented performer. I'd love to see her in film. From the looks of the poster, it looks like she's going to do an awesome job...plus she looks smoking hot.

Deborah Harry a gifted actress?! I may have only seen her in Videodrome - which is a classic - she was the worst in it, good at being sexy and a tad mysterious but that was it, she had two facial expressions throughout! And I like Blondie!
