Josteo posted a statusI'm sharing my own opinion on the dark knight rises movie and how people had different reactions to it. First let's start with Batman Begins; people loved it, it wen't to the psychology, philosophy and the past of Batman. Next; The Dark Knight, holy $#!T it was a great movie, Heath Ledger was great, it brought comic book movies to a whole new level and then we go to The Dark Knight Rises...mixed reviews out the wazoo! lol. Ok bullet points so I don't get side tracked:
Ok so...that's alot of bullets lol. First I like Anne Hathaway's Catwoman, she's tough, sarcastic, more like her comic book self, although some people really liked Michelle Pfeiffer's portrayal of Catwoman...well she played a more psychotic Catwoman and that's great and all but I loved this more grounded non-over the top Selina Kyle (plus I love Anne Hathaway).
Now Bane's voice...wow that's a stupid thing to nitpick about? Let's see who's better? Hmm...Schumacher Bane or Nolan Bane? I love Hardy's Bane; he's menacing, cold and very interesting to see but his motivation not so much. Let's see he was kicked out of the League of Shadows for being too extreme...why was he trying to fulfill Ra's al Ghul's destiny then?
Not enought Batman? Well the movie is about Bruce becoming the Batman once again. It's in the title people. Although I will discuss about this; people are wondering how did Bruce got back to the city? How did Bruce eject on time before the bomb detonated? Well here's the thing about Batman he's an expert in breaking and entering, plus people just hate exposition!
No Robin?...Robin John Blake done! Oh you wanted him in the costume? Ok I think the Robin character works well in the comics not in a Nolan film, just saying and yes I did miss Alfred but in a way I liked that he wasn't in the movie as much because you really felt the loneliness and isolation that Bruce was feeling. I did not cared about Talia al Ghul, she had no purpose in the movie at all. Her motivation like Bane was unclear, I thought she hated her father for what he did to Bane? Unlike The Joker his motivation was clear...he wanted to show people who they really are, but Bane and Talia they both hate Ra's so why are they carrying on his legacy?
To end this very long blog, I loved The Dark Knight Rises. Is it a perfect movie? For some no, but I enjoyed the action, the characters, the set pieces and let's not forget...Batman!
