First up I love both these films so let me get that out of the way.....Ok with all the talk about how can they have a young girl being a killer who goes around swearing and kicking the shit out of people and hearing all these people complain about this.....Well let me take people on a trip down memory lane. A movie called "LEON" also known as The Professional which starred a very young Natalie Portman.
Now not to spoil anything expect this....Her family is killed. She is taken in by a hitman who trains her in the art of being a true Hitman and in return she does stuff for him and helps him out. She also swears and claims to a Hotel owner (If I recall right) She tells him that Leon is infact her lover.
Let many people I hear bitching about HIT GIRL from Kick-ass are hardcore fans of LEON and they don't even recall the very very VERY simular characters. Natalie Portman if I recall was 12 when she made the film and as I said her role was to be trained as a Hitman to get revenge of the man her killed her family, She swears and claims to have fallen in love with Leon.

Now I do remember people bitching about this back then but it was NOT EVEN NEAR the level of bitching going on about Kick-ass. The world itself is becoming so watered down and protected that in 20 years time that we will all live the lifestyle of Christian Bale from Equilibrium, A world with no emotions or feelings.
Sure HITGIRL is going to make some news because of what she does and the way she acts but when it is taken in more of a dark comedy (which is what it really is) but with Leon the movie itself is taken FAR more serious.
I guess what I am trying to say is lighten up. Watching a ACTRESS which is what they are and I am sure even kids today can understand that and i doubt they are going to go pick up a gun and try and kill people with it just because they saw a movie, Hell I was raised on movies like this. At the age of 5-6 I was already a Terminator fan and went and saw T2 at the movies and my friends could not believe I managed to convince my family to take me to see it.....My answer was simple. My parents raised me and taught me from a young age what I saw on tv and the big screen is not how the real world works and I understood that.

Parents today wanna take pot shots at violent video games,TV and movies because they depend on TV as a babysitter for a lot of the time as they raise their kids and yet they don't want to take the blame if their child does something wrong so they have to blame what their child is either watching or playing.
So that is it either your agree with me or you don't but I am pissed off with all these save the child from violent games and movies gropus. Worry about rasing your child and teaching them true values before worring about what they watch and play.
