Kentgate: Can we just shut up already?

I have been on this site for a long while now (My first post was way back in September of 2007) and this is the first time I've ever seen a Spill Scandal. Everything that has been happening so far feels like the Spill equivalent to Watergate, but unlike Watergate, the reasonings behind this scandal are completely dumb.

Anyone who has been on the site in the past few weeks knows all the drama that is in the forums. For those of you who don't, Kent wrote a review for a pirated movie and has gotten into big trouble for it. Since then, a lot of people have been giving him crap, wanting him banned and overall burned at the digital stake for this. I have mostly kept silent on the matter until now, so I come now to ask you Spillios this important question: Is it THAT big a deal?

Look, Kent and I rarely cross paths and I doubt he thinks that highly of me, but I'm starting to feel sorry for the guy. I mean when I found out about his pirate review, I thought it was wrong but I didn't think much of it afterwards. I didn't feel betrayed as a movie fan, I didn't feel a sudden burning hatred towards Kent or the urge to bring mob justice to his doorstep. I honestly feel that the people who already hate Kent are using this to find better grounds to hate him, and thats just wrong.

Mistakes happen, and it really sucks when no one will ever let you live that down. To this day my dad won't let me live down the fact that I got fired from my first job for sleeping on the job. Kent has apologized and taken the review off the internet, can we drop it now? I write this not because I'm defending Kent's actions, but rather to end a stupid witch hunt that has gone on for far too long.
