Despite being just six months from release, Quentin Tarantino is apparently still casting roles for his latest film 'Django Unchained.' On Friday, it was reported that Jonah Hill ('21 Jump Street') had been brought aboard. Hill was evidently being considered for a part in the film early into production, but had to bow out due to scheduling conflicts. Now that he's a bit more free, he is apparently being cast in a different role from the one for which he was initially considered. No details as to his new character have been revealed at this time.

I am not surprised to see Tarantino cast an unlikely actor into his film, he's been surprising us all with his cast rosters for years. What does give me pause here is that it's not often you hear about a film that continues to add new names to the project six months from release, and after the trailer has been cut. Frankly, I was a little concerned to hear that QT was still filming scenes in New Orleans when the trailer came out, but now it seems he's still recruiting? My thought is that maybe Hill's part is quite small and will require little of his time to film. Hill will also be appearing in Evan Goldberg/Seth Rogen's 'The End of the World,' which is also filming in New Orleans as we speak. Perhaps Tarantino just grabbed Hill when he was at lunch and had him do a quick scene. I don't dislike Hill, but it's clear he needs the right director and the right project to be effective; 'Moneyball' and '21 Jump Street' serving as evidence. I'm sure Tarantino will be able to mine something fantastic from him, I just hope the movie doesn't end up delayed with all this eleventh hour cast shuffling.

What do you guys think? Will Jonah Hill fit well into this film? Does this increase or diminish your desire to see it?

Jonah hill is completely fucking annoying.

I dont really see why people are so mad at him for being in the movie. I mean hes just one actor its not like he is going to ruin the movie with a subplot about building a giant movie theater to invite all the Klu Klux Klan members to and kill them all while their trapped in the theater because the head of the Klu Klux Klan attacked his home for housing slaves.

Maybe he'll be a western town Jester. Sounds about right.

...umm...who gives a fuck? more power to jonah hill for possibly being cast in a QT movie. Dude got an oscar nomination, and had a hit movie he wrote and produced earlier this year. Also I'm sure he isn't worried about anyone's  opinion(including mine) but QT's.

I like Jonah Hill, but what the fuck?! I just saw a TMFI trailer for this film and Tarantino is still casting? I guess Tarantino is one of the few who can do shit like this because of how is films play out.

Concerning Jonah Hill, someone wrote "this doesn't sound good."

When Tarantino passed on Daniel Day Lewis for the role of Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction and instead went with his first choice, John Travolta, the producer said the same thing. But it turned out fine.

If theres anything to be said about Tarantinos talent, its that he brings out the best in actors. He knows how to use actors and brings out their best abilities. Whether people like Quentin or are sick of him, thats one trait I'll give him much credit for. If he was doing shakespeare and casted Mike Tyson as hamlet, that fucker would get a tony award cuz tarantino directed him.
