Johnny Depp Offered Lead In 'Snow White & The Huntsmen'
Source: The PlaylistThe Playlist is reporting that Tom Hardy, who was originally linked to the role of the Huntsmen in Universal Pictures Snow White and the Huntsmen, is unable to take part in the film because of scheduling conflicts. Between McG's This Means War and Chris Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, Hardy is booked.
Instead, producers are trying to rope Johnny Depp for the film. An offer went out, but Depp is also busy deciding whether or not he wants to make Dark Shadows with Tim Burton, Sleeping Dogs with Kathryn Bigelow or any of the gajillion projects he's got in development.
Meanwhile, Charlize Theron and Depp's The Tourist co-star Angelina Jolie are being courted for the titular female role, though there's no word on who's closer to landing the job.
One thing is certain: as reported earlier today, the film will open on December 21st 2012, against - of all things - The Hobbit.

Please tell me this movie isn't supposed to be a romance between Snow White and the Huntsman. That's all kinds of fucked up... mostly because I always see this guy as the Huntsman:

Johnny LOVES Barnabas Collins, it's his dream role, so there's no way he'd say no to Dark Shadows
However, releasing this movie the same time as the Hobbit - the world really WILL end in 2012! XD

I would love to see a Dark Shadows movie, I grew up watching that show on Sci Fi, except if Time Burton made it. Bleh. Otherwise I agree with Mouse, Depp would make a great Barnabas.

Go for Snow White, atleast we'll know that though it may sound like something that'll tickle Burton's fancy, it's not Burton!, and I don't hate Burton like everyone else does I think he's hit and miss and I just want to see him do something different.
Also I heard the Snow White script was great and it one some sort of competition as a recall.
