Yep, it seems to be already in process, at the recent Ottawa ComicCon he laid out his plans to make a Doc based on the fan community of "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic". Many of you here on Spill will know him from "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and as a very accomplished actor both on the cinema screen and TV, but he was also the voice for the chaotic villain Discord in the Season Two two-part opener for FIM.

In the provided video, he gives a basic outline that the documentary is in process, and will focus on the Brony community. In particular, he chose to create this after the many attacks on the fans by U.S. news channels and online websites, some of which you may have seen as recently as this week.  It's a very ambitious project for John to take on, but, will tackle many sticking points that have sadly been tied to the animated TV show for reasons that are rarely even described or discussed. In truth, they have never dampened the fans, but, it does seem that some people have ntended to focus on the worse parts of the community, and let's be honest - you could do that for any group and make them appear bad...

But, I do think he is the man for the job, he has shown exceptional talent down the many years of his work, and he does appear to show a real fondness for the fans. It will be fascinating to see his opinion and views on the community, and its rise to fame over the past 18 months or so. To see an impartial, level-grounded, and entertaining documentary on the topic will be of great benefit I think, many other communities down the decades have gone through these same times of ridicule, but this will be the perfect medium to lay it out for all to see in clear light.

Many questions remain on what form it will take however. Will it be made just for the Internet audience? Will it get airtime on a national channel? And if that is the case, will it have a production team behind it? My guess is that it will appear on TV, and if that is so, he probably has backing by Hasbro to make this project happen. He will no doubt include many of the big names in the community as well, such as fan websites (Equestria Daily), musicians, artists, and conventions, along with the fellow actors and staff. No matter what your stance is on this topic or the Bronies, this will surely make some very interesting viewing, stay tuned for future updates. ;)
