Jim Carrey as Colonel Stars in 'Kick-Ass 2'
'Kick-Ass 2' may still be filming in Ontario, but you don't have to wait until they're done to catch your first glimpse of actor Jim Carrey in his role as Colonel Stars. In addition to the return of homemade hero Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and child endangerment poster-child Hit Girl (Chloë Moretz), the second film (based on the comic) also introduces a whole new team of everyday heroes calling themselves "Justice Forever". The team includes several other... colorful?... characters such as Night Bitch (played by Lindy Booth), Insect Man (Robert Emms), and Dr. Gravity ('Scrubs' Donald Faison).
First up, we have Carrey as Colonel Stars, looking very much like a strange crossbreed of Henry Gibson and Dane Cook:

The first film netted just over $100 million world-wide (almost quadrupling it's production budget), so a sequel was a no-brainer. However, as with the first series and film, the comic book version of 'Kick-Ass 2' is very divisive amongst fans: you either love it or you hate it. There are parts of the source material that are... let's say "not suitable for mass audiences". However, as with the first film, the sequel's script is varying slightly from the source material including rumors of a possible Hit Girl / Kick-Ass hook-up (most likely changed because Moretz is now so much older than her comic counterpart would be) so there's a good chance that even if you read the comics, the film may still throw a few curveballs at you.

Wonder why they've altered the costumes of some of the heroes. Jim Carrey costume looks incomplete without the hood. and insect man's and Night Bitch's costumes are completely different (Insect man's possibly because he looked like black suit spider-man and night bitch because Lindy Booth might not want to dress as a dominatrix)
