Well, there is SOMETHING good to say about this movie. It's not one of those retarded PG-13 horror movies, this one is rated R. But then again rated R didn't save Watchmen (from what I've heard).

"not high school evil"..."i go both ways"...HARDEEharha...ha. eh. This is retarded. I agree with Gorillahandz, especially about the wall of bands. Most movies set in high school will be dated somehow even if said trendy language is now prevalent in the trailer. They are not making a lasting film here. They are going for the quick buck playing off the Fox hotness fad and the aforementioned wall of bands. Gotta separate the youth from mommy and daddy's money. If you want a high school movie that doesn't play to that sort of thing, check out Brick. This feels too much like The Faculty and Disturbing Behavior to me.

The dialogue I've seen in the trailers is what is driving me to avoid watching this movie. It sounds like it is trying to be super trendy for teens with its speech. Dialogue isn't just about buzz words and "cool" slang; it has to fit and work within the movie. By being so heavy handed with the up to date colloquialisms the film is automatically dating itself. Now, whether that matters at the box office is debatable, but no one is going to think this dialogue is cool anymore 5 years from now. It seems like it is working too hard to be trendy and that is the movie's greatest limitation from being a classic or even a cult classic. I've seen 'Juno' and this sort of thing is Diablo Cody's biggest crutch. Further evidence of the trying too hard to be trendy effort: a full wall of titles just for the bands playing in the soundtrack. A few months from now no one's going to give a shit about the popular bands that played in this movie.
