Jackman Joins 'Snow Flower'

The Hollywood Reporter says that Hugh Jackman has just signed on for Wayne Wang's Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, just as the film lost its lead actress, Zhang Ziyi.
Jackman will join the English-language drama at month's end at the Hengdian Studio outside Shanghai. Local media reported that his role is the male lead, but Jackman's publicist says that "at this point in time, he is doing an unbilled cameo."
Meanwhile, Zhang's manager said the actress, who was to have co-produced the film, dropped out "because of scheduling conflicts."
The film will now star Chinese actress Li Bingbing.
Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, about the lifelong friendship of Lily and Snow Flower and their imprisonment by rigid cultural norms, is based on a novel by Lisa See.
Wang and Michael Ray penned the script.
