Billed as his 100th film, the trailer for Jackie Chan's historical epic '1911' has been released. If you only speak English, you might find it hard to understand what's going on in the trailer, but essentially the film is about revolutionary leader Huang Xing and the founding of the Republic of China. Chan, who also co-directing the film with Zhang Li ('Red Cliff'), plays the complex military leader.

While the whole "100th film" thing may just be a bit of marketing trickery (as he's been in many more, leading fans to speculate that the studio is selectively deciding what they want to count as "his films" in order to have it equal 100), '1911' will be released to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution of 1911 on October 11th in both the US and China.

I'm really excited about this. Chan is really too old for Kung Fu and while I'm a history buff I'm still very foggy on how China went from an Empire to a Republic around the turn of the century, making this very intriguing. I can't wait to see how it plays out.

I'm glad that even on Spill, the guys who post these articles can't tell the difference between Japanese and Chinese.

May it be his 100th film or not, the fact that the man reached the triple digits at all is a feat on itself

Jackie might just his name to Mr.100, lol.

Haven't seen Jackie in a drama for a reeeeeeal long time. It's weird, I'm always so used to seeing him in action comedies. This is a nice change.
