'Iron Man 3' To Feature Radioactive Man?

More news from the set of 'Iron Man 3.' Shane Black's first outing as director of the franchise, 'Iron Man 3' so far will see Sir Ben Kingsley taking on the role of The Mandarin and word has gotten out that ancillary baddies like Firepower and Coldblood would also be featured. Also, the casting has experienced a series of turbulent ups and downs. They landed Kingsley, Guy Pearce, Jessica Chastain, and Andy Lau...and then Chastain and Lau both backed out. Lau has since been replaced by actor Wang Xueqi, and now an interesting tidbit has surfaced regarding Xuegi's character. It appears he'll be playing Chen Lu, which is the alter ego of villain Radioactive Man. Radioactive Man, endowed by an accident with the power of manipulating radiation, was originally a Thor villain, but eventually made his way into The Avengers and Iron Man universes. 'Iron Man 3' has already begun shooting.

Ok, this is the first 'Iron Man 3' character addition in a while that has really piqued my interest. I couldn't bring myself to get excited about b-list villains like Firepower and Coldblood, and I was thoroughly disappointed when Chastain and Lau departed. The fact that Xuegi will be playing Radioactive Man not only ties directly back into The Mandarin, but also continues to weave the ever-expanding, yet cohesive Marvel cinematic universe. Radioactive Man was a member of Baron Zemo's Masters of Evil as well as often working for The Mandarin. He can therefore tie Iron Man back to either or both of those properties. The Avengers continues to be a fantastic crossover conduit. I'm excited to see how Radioactive Man fits into the plot.

What do you guys think? Excited Radioactive Man is going to be part of the plot? Is the film overloaded with bad guys now?

Radioactive man was typically a Thor villain. Cold Blood was a Deathlok villain turn ally. Iron Patriot is War Machine II with Rhodey. Aldrich Killian was Tony's friend...now, he's a villain.

Lastsuperjedi, I don't get it, what's racist about being radioactive?

Radioactive Man in Iron Man 3? HECK YES! The only thing that worries me about this audition is that it could be considered racists. I know the character is a great character and is not racist, but at first look the character could be seen as racist (radioactive and asian).

Not to be rude, but you forgot to write that he is also famous for being apart of the Thunderbolts.

I'd love to see a superhero movie with a team of villains work, maybe this can be the one. I just look back at films like x-men 3, Electra, ghost rider, with villain teams that just didn't work at all. Even in the first X-men movie, which I liked, I thought they could have made the brotherhood of (evil) mutants more interesting. With Iron Man 2, I don't think the problem was too many characters, just too many poorly handled subplots involving the characters(and let's face it, when the most threatening bad guy gets handled in pretty short order both times he goes up against the hero, no one is going to care about the other less threatening bad guys).

You know, I never knew Radioactive Man wasn't a Hulk villian. I mean think about it; the Hulk & the She-Hulk both  got his powers from gamma radiation & he's all about manipulating radiation. Makes perfect sense. I mean more sense than characters like the Leader or the Abomination or hell, Titania goddam it.

Also, She-Hulk in next Hulk movie: MAKE IT HAPPEN.

I hope Zemo's in Cap 2 as a pupet master, of sorts, so we get the masters of evil in Avengers 2 or 3... or 4 (crossed fingers)

I think they're going for an Empire Strikes Back type thing by showcasing all the villains and not developing them (ala the bounty hunters).
