'Iron Man 3' Looking To Add Jessica Chastain & Andy Lau
Just yesterday we heard that Guy Pearce had been cast in Shane Black's 'Iron Man 3' as Dr. Aldrich Kilian, a character partially responsible for the creation and development of the Extremis nanotechnology. Now it seems all the cool kids want to play nerds. It's been reported that Jessica Chastain ('The Help') and Andy Lau ('Infernal Affairs') are both in negotiations to play scientists alongside Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark. Chastain was actually offered her role a while back, but initially it looked like conflicting schedules would prevent her from appearing in 'Iron Man 3;' those schedules have since cleared up. As to Lau, apparently Walt Disney China, the company that will be co-financing the film, wanted a major Chinese movie star to be included in the cast. Lau was evidently chosen as that star. 'Iron Man 3' begins filming next month in North Carolina.
This cast is really starting to impress me. The addition of Sir Ben Kingsley as the film's villain, whoever that villain may be, was inspired. Then we tacked on Guy Pearce as Dr. Killian, whose admittedly small role will nevertheless be crucial to the advancement of the plot should they stick closely to Warren Ellis' 'Extremis' storyline. And now we have easily the fastest-rising actress in Hollywood and one of my favorite Chinese actors hopping on board? Hell yes! If you haven't seen Chastain's 'Take Shelter' or Lau's 'Infernal Affairs' (the movie that was remade in the states as 'The Departed'), you really should. I can't wait to see all of these top-tier talents in one superhero film.
What do you guys think? Are you excited about the prospect of Chastain and Lau coming aboard? Are you impressed with this cast overall?

This better not end up like Iron Man 2.. But what ruined Iron Man 2 had to do a bit with the release of The Avengers. So why not?

Extremis, eh? I guess it fits...but then again NOT doing Shell-Head's most well known enemy IN his home country...kinda blows. And sorry, but Ben Kingsley will not fit in that role even if they wanted too.
so...I'm starting to lose interest here....hmmm

they better do something interesting with Andy. I dont want to see another Daniel Henney in Wolverine. Andy is like acting/singing royalty in the east.

Kingsley is half Indian, half english. His real name is Krishna Pandit Bhanji, which is about as Indian as Benedict Cumberbatch is British.
