I really dug the first trailer for Zack Snyder's 'Man of Steel,' but, true to the nature of a teaser, it gave us very little to go on in terms of story. All we could really say from looking at that teaser trailer is that Clark Kent...worked on a fishing boat for a while. That's what makes this new poster for the film so fantastic. It clearly shows Superman (Henry Cavill) in the custody of the police. Now considering he could break those meager steel cuffs whenever he pleased, one has to assume this a voluntary surrender. Either that, or there is kryptonite involved, but as he doesn't look to be in pain, I'm ruling that out. Something quite drastic must have happened to turn the authorities against Superman, and I can't wait to see what that is. Take a look at the poster below and let us know what you think.

'Man of Steel' hits theaters June 14th, 2013

@OdO

Whether you are religious or not, Superman IS a christ like hero, that's just how his character is. If they don't give Superman that feel at all, then he will seem like a completely different character. It's just who the character is.

Like I said, I love the poster! It's simple, but intriguing.

This poster has Nolan's stamp all over it.

I have hope for this movie since it appears to be in the right creative hands.  I grew up with both Marvel and DC, but my heart of heart lies with DC heros, so I've not having a Supes movie that speaks to "my" generation has been a drag, particularly after Batman Begins and Marvel's Phase 1, it's just seemed ridiculous to me that no one could figure out how to make Superman work on film.

this is a bad poster this doesn't get me excited for the movie at all, I wish whoever designed the dark knight rises  posters could've worked on the posters for Spiderman, Avengers, and this movie, as much as I hate that movie it had some excellent posters

I hope they really work on the sense of humility and sacrifice that Superman has. He should be portrayed as a sort of Jesus Christ of our times.

I would love to have a final battle in which all the world is looking up and seeing distant explosions in the sky as he is battling a villain (or villains). All of humanity holding its breath and waiting as epic music plays in the background. After some time, to their horror, they see him crashing down to Earth and as they approach the crash site, he slowly rises back up, turns his glance towards them revealing the look of determination on his face and flies back up to resume the battle. Awesomeness.
