Steven Spielberg's 'Lincoln' is preparing to head to theaters. Though universally known are many of the benchmarks and accomplishments of the life and presidency of Abraham Lincoln, Spielberg's film focuses on the story of the political maneuvering in which Lincoln was forced to engage in order to pass the 13th Amendment. This is the story we don't often hear in our elementary school history lessons. This latest international trailer not only highlights this central point of the film, but also showcases, albeit in a small way, the tremendous performances of both Daniel Day-Lewis and Tommy Lee Jones. It's long, but remarkably well-edited. Take a look at the international trailer below and let us know what you think.

'Lincoln' arrives in theaters November 16th

What, are you dense? Are you retarded or something? Who the hell do you think I am? I’m the Goddamn President!  Did anybody else hear that, or was it me?

Daniel Day-Lewis was a farmer in 1692 Salem, Mass. (The Crucible), a Mohican Indian fighting the French several decades later (The Last of the Mohicans), a New York gangster several more decades after that (Gangs of New York), an industrial capitalist years later (There Will Be Blood) and now it turns out he was also Abraham Lincoln. This man is not only immortal, he is British and Irish and yet more American than everyone in here combined. Fuck he's awesome!

Everything about this screams Oscar bait.

That's not a good thing. Pass.

@Bobby

Although I do agree with you that this trailer isn't very good, have you seen the second one? Cause I thought that trailer was pretty amazing.
