Ice Cube Wants It To Be 'Friday' Again
Ice Cube may not be for the pop charts, but he is for doing another sequel to the 1995 comedy hit 'Friday.' New Line is in talks with the rapper-turned-actor to star in, produce, write, and possibly even direct the fourth installment of this series. Other reports have suggested that Chris Tucker is also in serious talks to reprise the role of Smokey for the new film. Apparently the big obstacle standing in Tucker's way right now is that he's actually quite religious and isn't terribly keen on being seen smoking weed on screen again. All of this is still very much in the planning stages, but stranger things have definitely happened.
I actually don't have a problem with the release of another 'Friday' sequel. Even at their worst, they still make me laugh. Also, I think it would be a nice break from the family-friendly fare we've seen from Ice Cube of late. I would much rather see another 'Friday' sequel than a third 'Are We There Yet.' And don't get me wrong, I understand that Chris Tucker has some religious scruples and it would be crass for me to mock him for that. But he hasn't been in a film since 2007's 'Rush Hour 3' and doesn't have one lined up until 2013. Returning to one of his signature characters, one the perhaps doesn't play second banana to Jackie Chan, may be just what his floundering career needs. My only concern is that they would somehow incorporate Rebecca Black's song 'Friday' into the film...oh, the inconceivable horror!

All I can say is that I hope they pull it off. The first one is a classic!! Second one was okay. The third one I laughed harder at the bloopers at the end!!
