I just thought of a story that could be made for the upcoming Star Wars movie, I know it is not going to be ever used but I just feel like putting it out there and seeing what you guys think.

It is more about characters who are  bound to their ideals and find that it keeps them from getting along.

Years after the fall of the Empire, the Jedi and the Sith continue to exist in nearly equal numbers and gather strength to continuously fight each other for control of the galaxy.

While the galaxy is at war, a young Jedi Knight and his master travel to a remote planet controlled by criminal cartels to fulfill a rescue mission.

The mission fails, thanks to the intervention of both a Sith apprentice and his master, the four characters fight against each other and in doing so they capture the attention of the inhabitants of the planet, the Jedi master is killed in the battle, and before both Sith execute the Jedi Knight the armed criminals of the planet interrupt them and manage to capture the Jedi Knight and the Sith Apprentice, with the Sith lord abandoning his apprentice.

The Jedi and the Sith are disarmed (not without a descent struggle) and they are put into submission.

The story then takes time to develop the characters of the jedi and the sith, they talk about subjects like morality and true strength, and being stubborn in their points of view, the Sith believing that the Jedi are oppressive and foolish for keeping their power under chains and the Jedi defending his ways by exposing the Sith as enslaving themselves to their pursues of power and never being able to trust anyone, even their own teachers.

The criminal cartels decide to put the Jedi and the Sith into a coliseum type of game for the entertainment of the masses, the game has them fighting against a team of dangerous aliens for control of a robotic ball until they outscore the other team or every member of them is killed.

The game starts, the jedi and the sith have to play without their lightsabers, the other members of their team are quickly dispatched and they realize they have to fight together to survive. Eventually they just ignore the game and start to search for a way to free themselves from the coliseum.
They work together and in an exciting action sequence manage to eliminate the enemy team and take out the security forces to recover their lightsabers.

Chaos ensues, civilians quickly leave the place and the Jedi looks for a way to escape the planet, however, he stops when he realizes that the Sith wants revenge so he runs after him instead.

The Sith wreaks havoc with the people in charge of the game, until the Jedi comes and stops him. A struggle begins between them, the Jedi claiming they should be put in jail and forgiven, the Sith wanting to kill them.

They start arguing, slowly building up the conflict between them, they realize they have many things in common, but they embody different sides of the same coin, it finally comes down to the fact that the Sith will never stop fighting and killing to get stronger, and the Jedi will never stop fighting back to defend the innocents from people like him, and as such, they can never be friends, because that would mean that one would submit to the ways of the other, the Jedi allowing cruelty and hatred to run without pause, and the Sith having to find forgiveness and compassion to side with the Jedi, so their conflict can never be stopped.


And so they start fighting, a fight that wreaks havoc all over the place.
The armed criminals in the planet grab weapons and try to kill them, but they just serve as nuisances as the Jedi and the Sith keep fighting while deflecting back their shots, they separate for a moment to eliminate them with ease and then go back to their fighting.

Eventually it comes to a point where the Sith is about to die, maybe he hangs from a cliff to his death, after all their struggle the Jedi decides to help him, but as soon as the sith is safe he destroys his lightsaber and demands him to surrender.

Suddenly, the Sith Lord that escaped before returns and starts fighting the Jedi knight, exhausted from the battle, the Jedi loses his arm and cant fight back, before the Sith lord kills him he turns towards his apprentice and scolds him for being weak, and starts to shoot lighting at him and the Jedi at the same time.

With one last extreme effort, the jedi and apprentice use the force to slowly overpower the power of the sith lord, in a dramatic scene full of epic music and lots of flashing lights, they turn the lighting back to him so he starts falling down, the apprentice takes the Jedi's lightsaber and kills his own master.

Both force users are exhausted, the Jedi is defenseless without his weapon and the young sith could kill him. The sith struggles between killing the jedi or not...

he goes for the kill, but the jedi uses the force to destroy the lightsaber before it strikes him, he then expresses his disappointment, he thought he may have it in him to be different, the sith replies admitting that he is right, that he is a slave to his dark emotions, and he loves it.

And I think their final dialogue could go something like...
Sith "I could still choke you to death..."
Jedi "... so do it then..."
Sith "I should..."
Jedi "No, it is what you want."
Sith "why would you not defend yourself?"
Jedi "I did not said I would not..."
...
Sith "Do you hate me?"
Jedi "Do you?"
Sith "Of course..."
Jedi "I do not."
Sith "Why?"
Jedi "It is in your nature to hate me, what else can I do but forgive you."

The Jedi starts to slowly turn and walk away. The sith watches him get away. He slowly raises his hand, prepares to choke him...
Sith "I'm sorry..."

The jedi closes his eyes and gets ready to die...
Sith "...I won't let you take pity on me."

The sith lets go, and turns around.

They walk away, scroll credits.


I guess it needs more work but if it is refined it could be awesome.
