I brought this gangsta shit and this is the thanks I get the difference between Rap & Hip-Hop

So I was watching Jimmy Fallon and his House band is the Legendary Roots band who I am Convinced their name is THE LEGENDARY ROOTS BAND and they had erykah badu as a guest in the band and all wore the Michael Jackson glove and did a magnificent cover of I Wanna Be Where You Are by the Jackson 5 and realize that rap is different from hip-hop

Rap -the wu-tang clan
HH- The Legendary roots band

Rap- Samples pop hits from the 80's & 90's
HH- Samples soul music from the 70's which Rap hasn't done since 94-99

Rap- some rappers are in it for the money and do what ever the record company wants them to do
HH- do it for love of the game

Rap- Only the veterans and some rookies know who show respect for the old school and some don't have a clue who the old-school is
HH-has the respect for every artist

Rap- has everyone beef with everyone for no reason
HH- it's all love

Rap- goes platinum even though their is priating
HH rarely goes platinum even though they put their heart & souls in the album

Rap- Has gimmick dances made by artist from texas & ATL
HH- have the same dances from the 80's

Rap- have more ignorant motherfuckers that get played in the radio
HH Intelligent people who get no play except on XXL mag website or mixtapes

Rap- get publicly from their label
HH do their own publicly and get a quick appearance on 106 & Park

Rap- need a check to collaborate
HH - Hey you wanna come and do a song or make a appearance in my concert and have a good time

Rap- gangsta and hustling
HH Conscious and we gotta do better

Rap hooks and ring tones
HH- lyrical references to pop culture

Rap-look at my bling rims and hoes
HH- i got bills to pay and my babies momma is stressing me out

rap & hh james brown samples for all

Rap- dr. dre timbaland
HH- J.dilla kanye west

rap i hustled and gangbang
HH- I need to hustle to put my music out

Rap gives gimmick rappers radio play
HH lucky to get one

So I don't want look ignorant but hip-hop is shown in itunes that more new hip-hop albums have been sold then rap because the popular NAS JAY-Z ICE CUBE SNOOP EM BUSTA 50 veterans of rap are the ones who are getting albums sold while new rappers who have talent are being mishandled joell ortiz saigon papoose while the rappers who have radio spins are getting shipped out like every week while the hip-hop veterans like q-tip who was huge in the 90's and made dr.dre go to the studio and create the chronic now doesn't doesn't get a push and doesn't touch gold okay priacy is killing the industry which have artist like mf doom and any wu-tang memeber solo album who have been putting out fire aren't getting the push they deserve. Those with skills put out mixtapes that get recognition and have to do their publicly and only those who care about the artist buy the albums while those kids on 106 cheering are thinking alright go home download then if it's good enough i'll buy which is how it works now. Just saying we need to have hip-hop love like it was in the last golden age 93-99 which i play in my car when driving . a lot of people don't listen to the radio rap & hip-hop is different but i respect the old school and only buy the artist that i've been listening since I was younger or any new rapper that grew up in the years I did and give off the old school vibe

Till thenSHO'NUFF

The term Rap and Hip Hop is sort of interchangeable. Wikipedia says that Rap is a subculture of Hip Hop, yet I remember when I was a young man, most stores only had a "RAP" section where you could find all the music you listed. There was no such "Hip Hop" Section. Its all in how you identify it, is Common Hip hop (Even though he had beef with Ice Cube)? Are Public Enemy Hip Hop or Rap? Is KRS 1 Hip Hop or Rap?
