@Melissa Well, clearly you're a genius to have came up with that well thought out explanation. I am humbled and honored to be in your presence.  So when do you join Mensa ?

well dang it seems im going to have to revert back to my original statement, you being an idiot just because well you are.

Melissa  Are you saying that according to you, someone who watches a lot of romantic movies is an idiot ?

Well according you I must be a genius. Because I don't watch a lot of romantic movies.

I myself would not judge a persons intelligence on what type of movies they like.

You must have not read my other comments because Twilight is the only "romantic" movie I compared this movie to. The other movies I compared this movie to was Running Man and Death Race. I don't think anyone would call those movies "romantic".

it just seems like all you watch is romantic movies since that is all you have to compare this movie to....hehe

@Josh Maxwell  " boys and girls talking in low tones equals Twilight"  Wow ! , you like to twist my words. I never said that.

I said this trailer showed the main female character Katniss having two romantic scenes with two different boys, Peeta and Gale. Both of whom are in love with Katniss. I said that part of the plot is very similar to Twilight.

I never said it was exactly like Twilight. I never called it a harlequin romance. I never said that there was something wrong with a little romance in a dystopian film. I never said boys and girls talking in low tones equals Twilight. Please stop twisting my words around.

The thing is, I have not been arguing with you. You did not see where you got Twilight from this trailer. So,I tried to explain how a came to that conclusion. I guess I can not explain myself well enough for you to get were I am coming from.

I'll try to explain it again. There are two scenes in this trailer which to me are obviously there to show that two boys( Peeta and Gale ) are in love with Katniss. That's what made me draw a connection to Twilight. Because Twilight has that same part in it's plot.

Now, this does not mean that I think these movies are exactly the same. I'm just saying that one part is the same.

@Josh Maxwell  You should.  The story is amazing.  Lot's of depressing situations and one of my favorete plot twists of all time

Comment by Toe Knee Bee Ears on November 16, 2011 at 3:48pm

Melissa Why do say that ? Just because I don't like this trailer ?

Comment by Toe Knee Bee Ears on November 16, 2011 at 3:42pm

@Josh Maxwell  Again, that's just how I saw it. That's the impression I got from this trailer.

The examples you gave for men and women whispering in the dark are completely different than mine. You are comparing apples and oranges. M and Bond, Boss and employee. John and Sarah, son and mother. Of coarse those characters are not going to have a romantic scene. None of your examples were two attractive teenagers. How often do you see two attractive teenagers of the opposite sex whispering to each other in a dimly lit room and it was NOT a romantic scene ? I did not say there was anything wrong with a little romance in a dystopian film. That's fine with me.

Besides, even though I have not read the book, I looked it up on Wikipedia. Those characters were Katniss and Peeta. Peeta is in love with Katniss. So that was a romantic scene in the trailer. I was right about that. There is another boy in love with Katniss named Gale. So, there is two boys fighting over the main girl. That part is exactly like Twilight.

You may disagree with me but, all I am saying is that I got a Twilight vibe from the trailer.
