I'm a cautious person. If I put my money forward to anything, be it comics, movies, games, or other, I know exactly what I'm paying for. And who can blame me? Games are 60 bucks a pop, and if I walk into a comic shop and walk out $20 lighter, I want to be sure I'm not carrying a stinker along with my regular books. These products have prices that bar me from taking more risks. And while movies aren't as costly, it's normally a failed effort trying to convince my friends to see something other then the movie that's had the most commercials on Disney Channel.

So, lots of research, and consuming news about a movie filter out the bullshit, but I'm starting to think that it's causing more harm then good. Big summer blockbusters are analyzed for every minute detail prior to release. This can get you excited, being spoon-fed a new fact about a movie every other day, but when the movie rolls around three months later, what
don't you know? I'd have liked to have seen Scarecrow in the Dark Knight
when I was in the theater. But no, I found out way earlier. Sometimes, it's better to see something completely blind. Which, as a matter o' fact, happened to me a couple hours ago. In a crazy pattern of events, me and my dad had to leave the house for a couple hours. We had no idea what to do, so he suggested to go to the movies. I checked to see which movies were playing at the time, and we rounded it down to Zombieland. I had not given a second glance to Zombieland, but there we were, going to see a movie I had not thought about once, something I almost never do. And guess what? It was one of, if not the best movie I've seen this year. And I think it was partially due to my ignorance prior. The best scenes in the entire film take place with a certain star, who has a prolonged cameo. Some Spill members have already spoiled it, to which I say shame on you. And this cameo made a few comparisons to another comedy, The Hangover. However, The Hangover's cameo didn't have as much punch, for two reasons.
A. It wasn't funny.
B. It was in the trailer.
Yeah, The Hangover had to squash in Mike Tyson's appearance into the trailer, for some unknown reason. Zombieland, however, has no problem with keeping secrets, and it pays off in spades.
Below: Not even trying.

So there you have it folks, my little complaint with our hyper-technological era.
Mabye next time, when you learn that Unicron will be in Transformers 3, or that Killer Croc will be having a small part in the next Batman, you might stop reading, and wait for the suprise.
Lastly, I feel obligated to perform the whole "This is my first blog" song and dance, so if you have any
constructive criticism, throw it my way.
