ohmigosh! cannot wait fro this to reach the big screen it will be intreging to see how the directors inturpret the amazing books.
just hope people dont go stright for the cult culture as hapend with the twilight book saga.
do we have a date for the movies yet??

also the vampyres don't follow most of the folklore (or stereotypes as they call it) in the book. besides their outward appearance, they can live like most humans. eating regular food for example.

they're so addictive, i've got my 50 yr old boss reading them.

those who haven't read the books need to sit down somewhere. don't give a negative comment about something you haven't read yet. i have read all books to date and let me say, they are a lot better than twilight. they are very addictive.

so far as the series itself, it takes place in an alternate universe of the world where vampyres are apart of general society. they typically excell in the arts, so most actors, singers, etc are vampyres. they are usually beautiful as well. humans become vampyres as they hit puberty. they get marked and have to attend this school or they will die. in fact, not all fledglings (as they're called) will become vampyres as some get sick and die instead. the series does have not a lot of mushy parts like twilight and incorporates many themes such as religion, prejudice and of course teen angst. out of all of the teen vamp series (twilight, vamps, blue bloods, etc.), this series is the best. try checking it out of the library.

holy shit I just started reading those books! i am on betrayed right now, there fucking good, how long have has the novels been out? I was even thinking that these novels were good enough for a film, fucking awesome! :)

Somebody should acquire the rights to Charlton Huston's vampire novels. Crime thriller +lots of gore +a film noir feeling +VAMPIRES = epic win.

has anybody here read the series? erik seems to have, but i'd like to hear how good the books are. too bad there's not a Rotten Tomatoes for books (if any of you capitalize on that idea, I demand 30% of the profit)

ahahaha, this is funny. B.c of Twilight they are trying to do more vamp movies. I did pick this book up but didn't past 10 pages.
