With
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince coming close to it's release date, Warner Bros. has started to release some clips from the film and as usual
SOME fans are starting to complain. You ever hear those Harry Potter fanatics that complain saying: "This wasn't in the book!" Well, those type of hard-core fanatics sort of piss me off.
There are several reasons for this pet-peeve of mine. First and foremost, we've already had five
Harry Potter films, and most of them, if not all of them, have scenes that weren't in the book. Do you honestly expect for the film makers and script writers to go word by word from what the book says? Do you honestly expect for them to be able to make a film adaptation from a book without adding in some of there own material? Secondly, these hard-core fanatics complain, and after the movie most of them come out excited, happy from what they have just seen. I don't think there are many Harry Potter book fanatics that don't like the films, or at least find them decent. Why are you complaining if you know you're
most likely going to like this film?
For example, here's a clip that has had a lot of hard-core fanatics complaining (sorry I can't embed the video, it wont let me):
Harry Potter 6 Clip: "I Killed Sirius Black"
Here are some fan complaints that I've seen from Myspace and YouTube alike:
"
I can appreciate that they can't put every little thing from the book in the movie and may need to make small changes, but this scene isn't even remotely similar to anything in the book. it doesn't even seem to connect the storyline. its stupid. its just there to add extra drama"
-- Ever think it may serve a purpose? Maybe to get from Point A to Point B because doing exactly what the book did would take too long?
"
anyone else recognize how this scene wasn't even in the book, and they just made it up to make the movie better?"
-- No shit, most of us have read the book too.
"
HOLY CRAP!!!! this was not in the book..i hate when they add stuff!! stick to the book!!! (but it still looks like a good movie) "
-- Of course it looks good, you're going to like the movie anyway.
"
the books are perfect just the way they are. if they just made the movies to match the books they would have a perfect movie. ugh this is depressing :[ "
-- If they matched the films exactly with the book then we would have a 4-5 hour film. I don't think anyone wants that.
I could go on and on with these comments. Some of you may disagree with me and I respect your opinion. But after five films I think fans would expect what should already be expected. I personally can't wait for this film, and yes I've read the book. It should be good. Let me know what you think of these films and hard-core fanatics in general.
P.S.
Well, I did find a fan with some damn sense:
"
Damn, guys. Shut the fuck up. If you're so mad that they put in extra scenes, then don't go see the damn movie. It's a simple solution. And learn how to fucking spell, you retards. "
Also, am I the only guy who thinks Helena Bonham Carter looks sexy as Bellatrix? lol. If I'm the only one then I need help haha.

Take care everyone!
