While it's been a while since I've played one of these, I'm pretty sure the older games had a lot less luck required, especially for the minigames.

I don't understand how anyone could play these games and NOT turn everything into a sexual innuendo. At least that's what my friends and I used to do when we played them. Maybe we were just a bunch of perverts.

I remember back in the day I used to love mario party on the n64. But over time they started putting in all this bullshit and and it took forever to actually get to a game. And the whole reason I played it with my friends were the mini-games.
