Unpopular opinion, I know, but while the writing, theme and acting on Firefly were all great, it still bothered me that there was a new villian in almost every episode, and next to no finality in any of those stories.  As for Serenity, why couldn't it have one scene where the Blue Gloved Scientists (the one really recurring theme) hired that assassin?  Just a thought.

As for BSG, it's one of my favorite Sci-Fi shows ever.  I get why people may not like it, but it is more a show about humanity rather than technology.  I'd say I'd never force someone to watch it if they weren't interested, but may have done that with an ex.  She may have loved it, but again, might not be for everyone.

As for the playthrough, really interested in this game now...

BSG was an amazing show. the people who generally don't like it seem to be people who where expecting typical cliched sci fi. the most important thing people have to realize is that BSG is first and foremost a DRAMA in space not a big dumb space battle show. if you go in knowing its a drama the you can appreciate the amazing acting first and then still enjoy all of the space battle stuff (which was still amazing). another thing that was great about BSG is that it understood that good sci fi is not about the spectacle but characters and that it was one of the most topical shows to be on television. the show was great at talking about the topics of the day with out pounding it over your head or seeming preachy.

I hated the new BSG, it's one thing if you have a few despicable personalities or less than perfect characters but I hated EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. I feel like the only reason people clung to that show was because of the incredible lack of GOOD scifi. Enterprise and Voyager weren't horrible... Voyager just used a worn out lost in space formula. Enterprise had a chance to bring back the fun of crazy original original series sense of adventure but was just too bland for it's own good. I love the Stargate franchise as a whole, but Stargate: Universe suffered from the issues of both BSG and Voyager together, A lost in space story with an entire crew of annoying and irritating characters with only a couple of people that managed not to suck and a few decent stories, eventually canceled but ending in a way that left it open to re-entering that universe some day.

The first season of the new Green Lantern Animated show was a great scifi adventure which would have ended the story perfectlyif it were only one season, I really dont know where the second season is going though but I did like the first few episodes. The CG looks kinda like animated versions of the Timm style DCU figures so it doesnt feel too weird but I can see how it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Ultimately yeah, we need a new space ship show dammit.

I went and bought the game from GOG after watching this Happy Hour. It's quite fun and addictive and I been playing it on normal. It' really is odd how the game can suddenly decide to just end your journey, no matter how well things went up to that point. I like a good challenge, but I have a really hard time pinpointing what actually caused those specific losses.
