Nope, this isn't a new and controversial episode that Disney has been power marketing. It's an actual law suit.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, series creators Barry O'Brian and Richard Correll are suing Disney for profit royalties that they claim the mouse owes them. Their foundation for the suit is based on WGA compensation for their "created by" credits as well as pre-negotiated percentage cuts in their contracts with Disney that were never honored.

Corell himself is also suing Disney for his claim of being "wrongfully terminated" from his position and blames Disney for "blackballing" him from any future writing opportunities with Disney. One does have to wonder as to why he would even continue writing for Disney if he got screwed over on their biggest franchise ever.

The thing that is working against them in this lawsuit is who the defendants are. The series creators will have to go up against not only Disney, but ABC Cable, Bigwood Films, Fuss Budget Films, Silver Creek Pictures, and It's a Laugh Production. Can you say "one sided?"

However, if they do win in court, the creators will be given approximately $5 million per charge against the company. Personally, I think this case is going to reach an out-of-court settlement of some undisclosed amount.

Oh, and in case you care, the Hannah Montana TV show is in its final season. Yay! Another Disney cash cow is on its way to the slaughter house! Fire up the grills 'cause I'm making cheeseburgers!!

The biggest TV franchise ever is Star Trek. Period.

I saw only one episode of HM, .......30 minutes of time I will never get back. That show, along with other disney tv shows are bad. So bad they need to be rebooted. Besides I thought the "biggest franchise ever" was sports entertainment aka wrestling lol

Okay, ONE of it's biggest franchises ever. There are probably several other cash cows out there bringing in more money than Hannah Montana, especially with Miley Cyrus's popularity on its way down.

Did you seriously say Hanna Montana was terrible in a fun way at first? Terrible as in car crash or Terrible as in "oh the state of the youth is so depressing."?
