Halle Berry Returning As Storm For 'Days Of Future Past?'

The X-Men comic universe is practically bursting at the book binding with characters, many of whom  have already turned up in one or more of the filmic adaptations thus far. As Bryan Singer returns to the franchise with 'X-Men: Days of Future Past,' much of the casting to this point has pertained to the recasting of the actors we had previously seen in the familiar roles. James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender were locked down to play Professor X and Magneto respectively, as were Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen, also respectively. With both the older and younger versions of the lead cast, Hugh Jackman as WolverineAnna Paquin as RogueShawn Ashmore as Ice Man, and Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde were all signed. Now it appears Halle Berry may be returning as Storm. The actress revealed in an interview that she is roughly 90% positive that she will be reprising her role in the upcoming film, and that only a few final details remain. 'Days of Future Past' begins shooting in April and is due to be released July 18th, 2014.

I know some of you may vehemently disagree, but I really hope that unaccounted for 10% ends up derailing Berry's return. She's a decent actress, and I have liked her in other movies, but she was so flat and passive in her performance as Storm that she came to be my very least thing about the X-Men movies. To be fair, she was only my second least favorite thing about 'X-Men 3,' my least favorite being...well, everything else in the movie. It never seemed like she had much interest in the part, and it appeared that she wasn't putting much effort into doing the character any justice. Ororo Munroe, at least the way I know her, is an incredibly powerful, forceful superwoman. I was hoping that 'Days of Future Past' would cast someone as Storm who could be that same, fittingly, force of nature. Granted, this deal is not finalized so it may not be worth getting uptight about at the moment, but let's just say that if Berry is cast, I hope she doesn't factor too heavily into Simon Kinberg's screenplay.

What do you guys think? Happy at the prospect of Berry's return? If not, who would you have rather seen in the role?

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! She had no fucking charisma in the other X-men films, everyone was perfectly cast, but her. She always annoyed me. Don't get me wrong, she is a good actress (50% of the time) but she doesn't add anything to the role of Storm. In my opinion, I always felt Angela Bassett would be perfect for this role.

for continuity I would want her back I guess..... just give her character somewhere to go, something to do. In X3 her character's stance on the "cure" was good, but it fizzled out pretty quick......

Halle Berry was only good in "Monster's Ball". There are so many other great actors out there to bring and infuse the part with some new energy.

I remember back in the day when they woud say Angela Bassett would play Storm. But they also wanted Mel Gibson as Wolverine.

I don't like Halle to light skinned, for someone from Africa. Not a good actor. And, tried but failed to have an african voice to play someone from Africa. there are others like Kenya Moore,Gabriel Union, etc.

Halle is a playing it safe pick which I don't like.

Also, I would like to see a new rogue. This one is like looking at Kirsten Stewart not action or emotion

I would like to see someone else be storm Halley Berry makes Storm look to weak.

I think they could find a better actor. I would actually like a different Rogue as well. She wasnt very sassy or southern and Storm was too flat. She has a rich story and should be more of a front runner in a movie like Xmen. (Also no January Jones ever again!)

Halle Berry as Storm and January Jones as Frost are easily very weak elements to the universe( Origins: Wolverine doesn't even count as an x-men movie to me) and I would be delighted to see neither of them show back up.

I want new actors to reprise these roles please!!!!!

I agree with the writer - I don't want Halle Berry back.  She was weak in the movies - indeed, my least favorite character.
