Guy Ritchie's 'Black Ops II' Commercial Featuring Robert Downey Jr.

Over the last couple of years, commercials for videogames have really stepped up their, well, you know. Especially out in front of the curve are the ads for the various iterations of the 'Call of Duty' franchise. I dug the 'Modern Warfare 3' commercial with Jonah Hill and Sam Worthington and, along those same lines, this new one for 'Black Ops II' kicks several different kinds of ass. It was directed by Guy Ritchie ('Snatch') and features an appearance by, among others, Robert Downey Jr. The use of AC/DC, along with Downey's trademark sarcastic wit, make this feel like it could be an ad for the next 'Iron Man' as much as a videogame. Take a look at the commercial below and let us know what you think.

it even had the guy from The Intouchables and that Russian kid who tests out all types of weapons on YouTube...pretty clever marketing lol.

plus Downey Jr. never hurts.

As the boys at the loading bar say 'Oh look another military shooter". Formula. Tweek, repackage, sell you $80 worth of DLC's and host on non dedicated servers so the online is broke in the first day... I'm not trying to pick a fight with the COD fans because I use to be one, but having half a brain that series has left me feeling really burned. If you guys are playing this game I hope you're branching out and experiencing the other great games of the last few years and this season. Can't help but feel COD has been making chumps out of their fans for years now.

I'll say with the new one; it looks like the developers may have figured out what a cartoon they've turned the series into and are owning that (not with the commercial but actual game content). So I won't be a completely close minded douche and will rent this thing from RedBox. But holy shit I hope this is genuinely better...

A lot of people didn't play it but if you want a FPS master piece go grab the dated but gold "Battlefield Bad Company 2" not BF3. Holy shit leaps and bounds over any current military shooter. Plus you pay $15 for a pass and  get every DLC they ever make or will.

Well, that was lame.

Still getting the game though.

And when I say any of the games I mean black ops or black ops 2.

@superbsdmikez, you haven't played any of the games, also with goyer(who while I hate as a writer prducer and director) writing it, I wouldn't expect a no plot single player. Also If you watch Miles923's breakdowns on youtube, there's a lot that's diFferent on the multiplayer (especially the zombies) front.

CH look up the changes to the forumla in this game, also I'd sugget playing the treyarch triology7(World, black ops 1 and black ops 2) if nothing else for the zombies which is anything but formulaic

Haven't played Black Ops, World at War, or this upcoming sequel, but after Modern Warfare 2 and 3, I'm just about done with the Call of Duty franchise, especially when it basically has a patent on the term 'formulaic'.

Maybe I'll take a gander if there are overwhelming good reviews, but I'm not as interested in it as other games coming out soon (HALO 4!).

Nice to see Robert Downey Jr. and Omar Sy in a small fun trailer :D
