Wow, after watching Clint Eastwood's performance as "Walt", a racist Korean War veteran who just had his wife die and having the most pathetic family in the world alongside the fact, he hates the new neighbors, I was flabergasted. This guy still has it, seriously, he should have been nominated for best actor just to appreciate his performances seeing as how this is probably his last one and the fact he was just damn good.
But, ofcourse their is a vice to everything isn't there. His supporting cast sucked up the screen. Seriously, this could've been one of the worst acting performances I've seen in a long time. Thao was terrible, his sister was bad, the Priest was annoying and not believable, and his son maybe was the one bright spot of the supporting cast (not saying that he was good or anything.) I did enjoy the barber (brother of Drew Carey on the Drew Carey Show) and played Arthur Leigh Allen in the Zodiac (this guy is good, it's a shame no one knows who he is.) Anyway, the only reason I kept watching the movie was because of Clint. The message of the story was good, the ending would've been more gripping if only the acting was better and not to mention the scene with Thao at the end when he is in Walt's basement is horrible. I fast forwarded it. So really, if you want to see Clint Eastwood at maybe his best watch this and you won't be disappointed, but if your looking for a good movie then you'll be disappointed.
