To me, the trailer for Guillermo del Toro's 'Pacific Rim' was a thing of pure geek beauty. The story of monsters from another dimension battling humanity's last hope in the form of giant piloted robots called Jaegers? Amazing! However, two pieces of 'Pacific Rim' concept art have surfaced today that are beautiful not only in a geeky way, but in a "can I please hang this in my gallery" sort of way. Doug Williams crafted these mesmerizing paintings of a Russian colossus Jaeger and a skull-shaped temple respectively. It'll be interesting to see how these elements, which informed the design of del Toro's film, will work their way into the story. Take a look at the concept art below and let us know what you think?

Isn't Jaeger German for hunter? Oddly European-centric film for something based in the Pacific....

I don't know why, but the first picture just keeps reminding me of Shadow of the Colossus
