The movie screenplay writer of Going The Distance (2010) Geoff LaTulippe is a close friend of movie producer David Neustadter and based this movie on David's real life long distance relationship with a former girlfriend. David Neustadter is the brother of Scott Neustadter who wrote along with movie screenplay writer Michael H. Weber the good and funny Full Price comedy movie sequel The Pink Panther 2 (2009) and the outstanding and memorable Better Than Sex romantic comedy-drama movie (500) Days of Summer.
So (500) Days of Summer and Going The Distance (2010) are very similar romantic comedy-drama movies.
