For all you G.I. Joe fans out there, if you weren't already excited for the brand new
G.I.Joe: Rise of Cobra movie coming this summer, get ready for another surprise. According to
IGN, Hasbro announced that they are bringing a new animated mini-series titled "G.I. Joe: Resolute" to be distributed exclusively online through of all places,
Adult Swim.com. Each episode will be approximately 5 minutes in length, with a new one appearing every week until broadcasting the finale on television. All in all it will come to about 60 minutes of material.
This is an interesting turn of events, as this is one franchise that is deciding to pursue its original audience rather than target a new "kid" demographic. Transformers was dumbed down a lot with
Transformers Animated after its film release. Heck even The Dark Knight got a less edgier show with
Batman: The Brave and The Bold. So what do you guys think? Anybody interested in seeing a more mature G.I. Joe, or is Hasbro overestimating the lovers of the franchise?
ADDITION: The first episode will premiere April 17 on adultswim.com
