i would vote this movie as "rental". i went to see this as a bargain martinee a few days ago. the story is simple enough. the guy played by matthew mconahay (?) is a jerk who had his heart broken by a childhood sweetheart. he leads a life of sex and fame until he meets his sweetheart again and falls back in love. normally i love this kind of story. every nice girl does. to change and have the heart of a complete asshole? the asshole who is not an asshole only for that special girl. but this movie fell short. matthew played his character pretty cold and edgy. even when he realizes his mistake, i felt no emotion from him. i couldn't care less when the two were together. the comedy bits weren't even terribly funny. the ghost of the girlfriends were the only ones who carried any weight in the movie. the one who played the past was really funny. i oddly related to her a bit. the ghost of present kind of bothered me a bit. a bit sterotypical at most but now and them some witty quip would surprise. the ghost of the future didn't say a world but she was very pretty to look at! all in all, i think matthew pretty much ruined this movie. he looks amazing at the beach but he's way too good to playing the asshole and nothing else.
