King of the Koopas posted a statusWith less than two weeks remaining until April 1st, the anticipation for the second season of HBO's 'Game of Thrones' is at a record high...especially in my house. Though I'm sure I can't be the only one pumped for the start of season two. If you count yourself among those enamored of the fantasy series based on George R.R. Martin's 'A Song of Ice and Fire,' I have a feeling you'll be intrigued by this recently released poster. The poster not only shows a hatching dragon egg, but carries the tagline "I will take what is mine;" a line spoken by Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke). The promise of dragons seems strong. If that weren't enough, a trailer for the first episode of season two, entitled 'Price for Our Sins,' also just hit the web. Seriously, so excited. Take a look at the poster and trailer below and tell us what you think.
Season 2 of 'Game of Thrones' premieres April 1st

Comment by Tom on March 26, 2012 at 10:18am @Roboto, the whole series is pretty light on magic in the books. I've read them all, and the dragons and whitewalkers (the book calls them Others) do not play a major role as of yet. But the entire series is called 'A Song of Ice and Fire' so we all know where this is going, eventually the whitewalkers and dragons will have a confrontation. I finished the fifth book, and the story is no where near the end yet. They are just teasing everyone with this dragon business. They don't start doing anything until much, much later.
Comment by HudsonsirhesHicks on March 25, 2012 at 9:34pm @Roboto - I think we will see them, but they will be a minor part of the told story rather than be a major part. At least whats shown on screen anyway. Hope I'm wrong. :(

So does that mean the dragons will be off screen for the most part and that we'll hardy see the white walkers? I guess we'll just have to wait and see!
Comment by HudsonsirhesHicks on March 24, 2012 at 7:09pm @Roboto - I haven't read the books, but the producers have said they wanted minimal 'fantasy' showings in the actual TV series. It's more implied, with little scraps 'on the fringe' of the series, since they wanted the time it is set in eg: castles, kings, queens, etc to be the dominant story.
Comment by Happy Birthday Roboto on March 24, 2012 at 5:03pm Now here's what I don't get, season one opened with a zombie and ended with some baby dragons, but by and large the show has avoided such things, so I wonder how much fantasy will be in season two considering season one was a fantasy show with as little fantasy as possible! :(
Comment by KingpinLarry on March 23, 2012 at 8:17am So what will happen to the baby dragons?
Comment by Todd A. on March 23, 2012 at 8:06am That's no dragon egg! That's a alien facehugger! Oh my god Game of Thrones is an Alien prequel too!!!!!!
Comment by One Trick Pony on March 22, 2012 at 3:05pm if any of you fools have bothered to read the books then you know that the dragons will still be around. Fooooollllsss
Comment by AEGIS on March 22, 2012 at 11:25am Yeah it's not much of a teaser if you've watched the show. By episode 4 they've hinted enough that dragons will be coming back in the show.
Comment by Tom on March 22, 2012 at 8:11am Oops, I think I just gave away something for those who haven't seen Season 1. But fuck it, if you are looking at a Season 2 posting, I will assume you have seen Season 1.
