Fuck it. What can I do? I'm just sick and tired of all the Nolanites working overtime to explain how things work.

Look, okay... you win. You love a movie more than I do. Okay, I get it. But for fuck sake at least step back for 2 seconds and acknowledge that there are examples of bad writing in the movie. That doesn't make the overall movie a horrible movie, it just shows that it's NOT the world's greatest piece of cinema. And while we are at it, PLEASE stop trying to "cover up" that bad writing with lame excuses.

"Yeah, but...."

Yeah, but WHAT? Nothing that you can say or do, or even explain "further" can cover over the fact that YOU have to explain it to me better than the MOVIE ITSELF does. If you are capable of explaining how something works, then WHY DIDN'T THE MOVIE ITSELF do it too? Is that too much to ask? Is it really just too difficult to understand the concept that the movie itself should be able to explain aspects much better than the audience does? If the audience who sees the movie has an issue with something, then at least be able to point to a scene in the movie that covers what's wrong. Don't explain it --"Yeah, but......" -- days/weeks later. Clearly if you are having to take the time to explain something that is missing from the movie (As far as explanation goes), then the writers of that movie didn't do a good job putting it together. Why is that so hard to understand?

Not the movie you want....

Uh, okay. You know what Nolanites. I'll actually give you this one. It's NOT the movie I wanted at all. The movie I wanted had nothing to do with Bane, Catwoman, Talia, or Blake. In fact, the movie that I "WANTED" had to do more with Bruce/Batman having to realize that if he's going to continue the Batman persona, then he's going to have to face the fact that there are deeper "plots within plots" that have to be examined, uncovered and defeated. The movie that I "WANTED" had more to deal with the fact that not all "threats" are physical in nature, but psychological or costs you friendships and other relationships. In fact, the movie that I "WANTED" was something that actually took a step back and forced Batman to realize that not all criminals are going to be physically difficult to overcome, there are going to be a number of them that you will have to out-thing.... in other words, be the goddamn "Greatest Detective" for fucking once without having to rely on CSI-bullshit to see you through something. Yeah, that's the movie I "WANTED" before casting was even done. Once they started to let you know which characters were going to be in the next movie, I KNEW going in it wasn't the movie that I "WANTED".

Would have made the movie differently...

Well, again... yes I would have. But here's where my differences would have happened. I would have kept everything the same, except the WRITING aspects. There are parts (that Nolanites refuse to see) that are lower-quality than they should be. Character-situations that are overlooked or not "reinforced" by one line or 2sec of film. In fact, I can name and explain where changing a Character out for another would have been more "emotionally effective" to characters. I can name and explain how 2 sec of film would have answered several questions, and re-made the ending to make MORE FUCKING SENSE without being so damn confusing. I could have tossed out 1 joke, switched it for 1 line by another character and it would have reinforced a character's personalty-arc from the first movie to the last. I could have re-edited (or re-written) a single snippet that lasts all of maybe 3sec of film, that would have changed everything. There is one scene in particular that I would have rewritten to make the setting different that would have made more sense. Yes, I would have made the movie differently.... by fucking paying attention to the shitty writing that is going on with the screenplay and script.

You just hate the movie....

Uh, no. Trust me, if I hated the movie I would let you know flat out that I hated it. I don't discuss in detail the movies that I hate. I hate a movie, I simply say "Oh, i hated that movie" and avoid talking about it, the characters or any aspect of that movie as much as possible. It's the movies that I LIKE that I want to talk about, even if it's talking about the flaws that are INSIDE that movie. I've done both. I've talked about the parts that I liked in several places and I've talked about the parts that I hate...again, in several places.  It may seem that I hated a movie because I talk about the parts that I disliked, because that's the topic at hand "The disliked parts". When the topic switches to "things you loved", then I can give several examples of things that I loved. Pointing out something's flaws doesn't mean you "hate" that something. My old dog used to pee in the house when she got over-excited. I hated that, but I still loved the dog. Being able to like something IN SPITE of the flaws, means that it's made an impression.

But none of this matter. Nolanites (specifically) are so willing to forgive any flaw, overlook any error and explain/justify any shortcomings that it's impossible to actually hold a discussion for long with them. Eventually, someone either turns it into a personal attack about how "stupid you are for not loving it", or "You are just a hater"... or my favorite, a 3rd party jumps into what was a discussion and turns it into a "no, you are wrong... here's why" without being able to be wrong themselves.

At this point, you Nolanites will be happy. I'm done talking about this movie. I've given example after example, scene after scene, dialog after dialog, setting after setting... of where things just should have been done better by the writing staff. But since it turns out that somehow that I "hate" the film, then that's all there is to it.

So, here goes. My final words on this matter. I like Batman Begins more than The Dark Knight or The Dark Knight Rises. I give TDKR a matinee. I liked the movie overall, even though I found some very annoying errors in the movie.
