Relativity Media and Apaches Entertainment have closed the deal with '28 Weeks Later' director Juan Carlos Fresnadilla to helm their reimagining of the comic book 'The Crow'. The comic book, written by James O'barr, centers around a young musician Eric Draven who is killed while trying to save his fiance from an attack by street thugs. He is resurrected by supernatural forces and seeks revenge for his fiance's death by methodically tracking down and killing each one of her attackers.
The comic was previously adapted in 1994 into a film starring Brandon Lee, who was tragically killed in an accident during filming. The popularity of the film (which made $51 million in the US box office) spawned several sequels and a TV series.
No word on casting just yet, but Relativity is hoping to start production this fall. Who would you like to see play Eric Draven?
