Freeman Set for Comedy

The Hollywood Reporter says that Warner Bros. has picked up an untitled comedy by Josh Cagan and Greg Coolidge in which Morgan Freeman is attached to star and Peter Segal to direct.
The script, which had a working title of Dirty Old Men, revolves around an aging playboy who finally meets the love of his life and his best friend and wingman for the past 40 years (Freeman) who does everything to break up the new couple.
The tone is described as similar to Wedding Crashers and The 40-Year-Old Virgin.

I guess it's got to to do with the fact that either A.) They wish they were their friend's love interest or B.)They see you as a threat because if they become romantically involved with you, that means that it might lessen (weaken) the bonds of friendship between them. It's a strange dynamic about the forces of the universe always trying to equalize themselves.
