First Trailer For Weinstein Company's 'Bully'

Regardless of what your personal high school experience was, the fact of the matter is that bullying is a social issue that has climbed to epidemic levels of hate, violence, and - in some very unfortunate cases - suicide. The first trailer for The Weinstein Company's documentary 'Bully' has just landed online. If the movie itself is half as stirring and uncomfortably eye-opening as the trailer, this is a film everybody needs to see. I don't mean to get preachy, and I know most of us are far removed from school and don't have to deal with this sort of thing anymore, but ignoring it only profligates the problem. Take a look at the trailer below and feel free to discuss it in the comment section. I wish all of you a great week and implore you to be decent to one another. Cheers.

'Bully' is due in select theaters March 30th.

The world is run by bullies.

Best Documentary of 2012... I already see the Oscar statue. But, seriously though, this film looks incredible. I can't wait to see this be revealed to the world of (mostly) idiot parents, like the ones seen in the crowd shots in this trailer.

@Jamilia

That is the dumbest comment I've ever read. So I take you've been a bully, and you tell us this "people are all antagonists" statement for what, to make what you did seem less of an issue? Trying to make yourself feel better? Either that or you've never been a victim. Victims would never come out with the kind of stupid statement you've just made.

@Jamilia

And does that make bullying OK? I agree that at some point in our lives we're antagonistic to someone else. School bullying that leads to suicide, however, isn't an issue that should be ignored just because "we've all been the bully at some point."

Everyone admits to being  bullied, but rarely does anyone admit to being one.

Face it, you were all an antagonist at ONE point in your life. You were never ALWAYS the victim. Whether it was verbal, physical, or seeing something and letting it happen, you were all the big fat meanie at some time or another.

After watching the trailer I can already tell that this movie is going to be phenomenal.

By the way, I been in school for 10 years and I have never been bulled.

To be honest every time I had a so-called "bully problem" at school I just went to the princepal abou it and the kid stay away from me the next day... Problem solve

We've all had to deal with certain forms of bullying growing up one way or the other, and this documentary is going to shed light on this and bring some good positive results and discussions.  But one thing I'm tired of is this constant advice of "don't worry things will get better after high-school, just deal with it for now" type mentallity from all social medias and speakers.  Here's what I learned growing up when it comes to bullying, and luckilly I had certain cousins and older influences who were atheletic or skilled in different arts of self-defense teach me.  #1 when confronted RUN (for your safety and for theirs). #2 when cornered don't be afraid to defend yourself, and do whatever it takes to escape.  Near the end of my highschool run, I was confronted cornered and had to deal with one of the worst bullies out there.  He banged me up a little, and then I ended up punishing the fat-ass when I had no choice.  There were times when I'd get pushed around a little but I still learned to defend myself it became kind of fun standing up and running off at the opportunity. At the end I got nothing but respect from so many kids.  Alot of these labelled bullies have been raised by weak-minded ignorant parents, my point is no matter what the outcome kids should learn to stand up for themselves and those in need of help. Another thing, name calling and getting teased for who you are etc will also unfortunately be around.  But kids should learn at a young age how minor and useless all of that really is.  My parents taught me to be kind, and my older peers taught me to be fearless and against threats and care less about being judged.  You can't prevent bullies from being around, but they're alot easier to deal with, and that's what kids should learn these days.  A good kid should learn how much he/she has in them and never feel cornered, that's what I want to see in a documentary about this issue.
