First Trailer For 'The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones'

By and large, I'm getting pretty sick of the rash of young adult supernatural stories that have sprung up in the wake of 'Twilight.' And truth be told, when I heard about 'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones,' that is precisely what I thought it would be. Based on a series of novels by Cassandra Clare, the film revolves around a young girl (Lily Collins) who figures out she can see into a world of demons and that she may be a half-human-half-angel called a Shadowhunter. Yeah, I know. But the trailer actually looks interesting, call me crazy. Plus, I'll watch anything with Jared Harris...even if he is basically just Giles from 'Buffy.' Take a look a the trailer below and let us know what you think.

'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones' hits theaters August 23rd, 2013

Trailer gets a "Meh" from me.  Story is hardly orginal.  The visuals were fine, but no wow factor in the execution or art design.  With a late August release date, seems the studio knows it doesn't have much on it's hands here.  Might catch it on Cable in a few years if I'm bored.

Nope, looks like the same old generic plot just attached to some book series. I only hope this does well for Jared Harris and Robert Sheehan's sake.

NATHAN FROM MISFITS! Wish he had a bigger role.

Anyway, it looks like a somewhat decent young adult/tween fantasy film, with a female lead which is nice. This is not a film for me.
