First Trailer For 'The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones'

By and large, I'm getting pretty sick of the rash of young adult supernatural stories that have sprung up in the wake of 'Twilight.' And truth be told, when I heard about 'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones,' that is precisely what I thought it would be. Based on a series of novels by Cassandra Clare, the film revolves around a young girl (Lily Collins) who figures out she can see into a world of demons and that she may be a half-human-half-angel called a Shadowhunter. Yeah, I know. But the trailer actually looks interesting, call me crazy. Plus, I'll watch anything with Jared Harris...even if he is basically just Giles from 'Buffy.' Take a look a the trailer below and let us know what you think.

'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones' hits theaters August 23rd, 2013

I can understand everyone's wariness of these kinds of stories, especially in the wake Twilight, I have to say this does well to distance itself from the formula of Twilight.

I read this series after reading Twilight, and I felt like it was a breath of fresh air after reading that suffocating and cliche series. Yes the romantic overtones are there for this series, but it takes a backseat to the action and lore that it creates.

I guess all I'm trying to say is don't immediately write off this yet, and just see where it can go.

So much of this YA crap floating around. Beautiful Creatures, The Host and this. They're trying so hard to find the next Twilight. I'd compare it to Harry Potter but I don't think that applies. There's only so many teenage brain cells to spare and one or more of these is bound to get lost in the shuffle. I forgot about Warm Bodies. I guess it can be thrown since it has teens sucking face and all. What ever happened to that Percy Jackson and the Olympians franchise anyway?

I've heard of this series before. I think someone was trying to get me into it or something.
