First Trailer For 'The Last Exorcism Part II'
I was a big fan of Daniel Stamm's 'The Last Exorcism.' It told the story of a priest who had all but completely lost his faith and was filming exorcisms he conducted in order to expose just how phony they were. He is then of course presented with a case far more legitimate than anything he's ever encountered. When I heard there was going to be a sequel, I was a touch disconcerted...and not just because it made the whole LAST exorcism thing a bit dubious. However, after watching the first trailer for Ed Gass-Donnelly's 'The Last Exorcism Part II,' I am more than a little intrigued. The entire found footage angle has been dropped in favor of a traditional third-person perspective. That doesn't seem to affect the creepiness of the images, and that's not surprising. The best thing about 'The Last Exorcism' wasn't that it was found footage, it was the compelling protagonist and the sympathetic performance by Ashley Bell; playing the young Nell once again here. The last exorcism? The last exorcism part II, I mean for real this is it! This time we gonna have the LAST of all exorcisms!!! No more exorcism after this ONE. It'll be the achievement of the ultimate of the last, isn't it? The LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAST ... till the next movie??!!!

That girl was SO good in the first one that I'm curious about seeing this, but with the mystery blown it seems like all we could possibly be left with is a standard possession movie. The trailer already shows too much which is the antithesis of the first movie.
