Red Band Trailer For Seth MacFarlane's 'Ted'

Seth MacFarlane, the creator of 'Family Guy' and 'American Dad,' went and made himself a movie. Not only that, but it's a live-action movie and he got Mark Wahlberg to star. 'Ted' is the story of a grown man with a very unusual roommate: a walking, talking (vulgarly at that), teddy bear named...Ted. His bizarre relationship with Ted becomes problematic when things start to get serious with his new girlfriend, played by Mila Kunis who also voices Meg on 'Family Guy.' MacFarlane himself voices the titular bear as well as taking on directing and writing duties (along with two of his 'Family Guy' cohorts Wellesley Wild and Alec Sulkin). Recently, the red band first trailer for the film hit the web, and, I gotta say, it looks pretty funny. I will grant that Ted's voice and Peter Griffin's voice aren't too far apart, which may irritate those who do not count themselves fans of that show, but the interaction between Ted and Wahlberg is so absurdly bro-tastic that you can't help but chuckle. Take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think (warning: very much NSFW).

'Ted' hits theaters July 13th.

I'm smelling another Howard the Duck.

This was pretty funny, but I feel like MacFarlane just watched a BUNCH of Wilfred then went and wrote a script.

WTF? Don't know about this, it has the cursing and drug jokes that do get old but some parts were funny.

Say what you will about Mark Whalberg, but the guy sure as hell can name a shitload of names in amazingly rapid succession.

I dislike Family Guy, American Dad and The Clevland Show because they all follow the same formula and have an "aren't we funny" smugness, yet I don't know whether it's the design of Ted, but I didn't get that vibe from this trailer.  The swearing for swearing sake might get old real fast (and it doesn't help Ted sounds like the Peter Griffin) but I might give this one a look on one of those days I need some yucks.  If the guy behind Beavis & Butthead can give us Office Space, Idiocracy and Extract, this may be a pleasant surprise.

I don't know about you, but the song about their fear of lightning is kinda catchy

I absolutely hate that asshole

MacFarlane

but I admit that SOME parts of this trailer were funny, but only like 1 thing

Omg, I completely forgot about Unhappily Ever After XD

His brand of humour's run its course. In fact I'm surprised at how funny American Dad! is despite everything else he does - it's like it's not even his show.
