Brad Healy posted a statusOk, so while I will admit that this first trailer for Paul W.S. Anderson's 'Resident Evil: Retribution' makes the film look a bit more entertaining that I had thought it would be, this trailer is bizarre on a number of levels. First, you get what appears to be a telecommunications company advertisement that bleeds into the actual trailer. Don't get me wrong, this is quite clever, but I foresee a lot of people will miss the first few minutes of the trailer as they try to skip what they think is an unrelated ad. Also, why is 'Resident Evil 5' cribbing the 'Tron: Legacy' soundtrack for its trailer? I'm sure they got permission to do so, but given how indelible to 'Tron: Legacy' that music is, it's frankly distracting to hear in a 'Resident Evil' trailer. Take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think. Need a bigger 'RE' fix? Check out Hollywood.com's 'Resident Evil 5' set visit and their interview with star Milla Jovovich.
'Resident Evil: Retribution' hits theaters October 21st.

Comment by Liquid on January 23, 2012 at 10:57am Sigh. . . the name Resident Evil has been making me really excited as of late with the debut of RE6 and the new Operation Raccoon City trailer, but now I'm handed this piece of crap. I know the movies and the games are each their own things but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
