sky gonzalez posted a statusWe all know the story of 'Jack and the Beanstalk;' some dumb kid makes an extremely ill-advised trade, grows an enormous plant, and has a run in with an even more enormous, and greedy, giant. Director Bryan Singer ('The Usual Suspects,' 'X-Men') wants you to rethink everything you know about that fairy tale as he unleashes his new film 'Jack the Giant Killer.' In the film, a longstanding peace between humans and giants is broken and young Jack must rescue a kidnapped princess from the kingdom in the sky. The first trailer has just hit the web and it looks fairly awesome. I particularly enjoy the scene wherein the giants are throwing entire flaming trees at the humans. Take a gander below and tell us what you think.

Comment by Luke Hero on December 19, 2011 at 11:05pm Why did the remind us Singer was the director of X-Men...as if that's a good thing?
Comment by Mr.K on December 19, 2011 at 9:33am I wish people would stop complaining about this and look at this for what it is. A trailer. Because you know it is a super reliable way of determining the quality of a movie right >_<
Complaining about it being a remake or reboot doesn't make a damn difference. But hey, maybe your cynicism is just helping you lower your standards for the film. Thats fine. Just don't go complaining about how they are reinterpreting this and since it isn't the genius idea that you always had in mind that it means the move will suck. There is difference of being cynical and than just all together dismissive because it doesn't meet your ridiculously high standards (y'all know who I am talking about.)
I always laugh at the end of these comments since all of this means nothing until we actually see it. Good day.
Comment by Lavender Uke on December 19, 2011 at 6:36am Just noticed about the 60s film. That actually makes it worse and it's not really helping your case if you plan on defending this movie. They've tried remaking movies from that era and look how that turned out.
