First Trailer For Geek Documentary 'Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope'

If you've ever been to Comic-Con, or if you've ever been remotely interested in Comic-Con, I highly recommend the new Morgan Spurlock documentary 'Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope.' I was lucky enough to see it at Fantastic Fest last year and it is a touching, and at times hilarious, celebration of all things geek. Hell, it was co-written by Joss Whedon and co-produced by Stan Lee for crying out loud. Today the first trailer for the film hit the web. It perfectly hints at both the quirky subjects of the doc and the celebrity commentators without giving too much away on either side. Kevin Smith is particularly funny both in the trailer and in the film itself. Take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think.

'Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope' will be released April 6th

it is not so much a geek pride thing it is like a documentary on the super bowl. they are making a movie where they talk to people who are experiencing an event that they have been dreaming of for years, examining the pure joy the con gives them.

Looking forward to this. We still live in a culture where "geek" and "nerd" are synonymous with loserly, unsocial, awkward, and/or outcasts. Fact of the matter is everyone has their niche and is a geek or total fan over something or another, and yet they're still capable of functioning like sane minded, rational people Comic-con is an experience to go somewhere and act out your geekdom in ane environment with like-minded people.

But as the LEOG crew mentioned before, it definitely needs some work.

@ Heath Ferris

Kevin Smith has said that he will retire as a director following the filming of his next movie Hit Somebody.

Kevin Smith should only do things where he talks. I haven't like a movie he's made in the past 6 years. I wish he would just do things like this from now on.

that's when you know that geeks and mainstream are still very separate things.

Comment by Crytex on February 23, 2012 at 3:39pm

And it has to end with Kevin Smith making a fat joke about himself, what a turd.

Guess Morgan isn't satisfied with all the sponsors he gets (see last documentary) but now, needs celebrity endorsements...That's fine...but I am not paying $15 for things I already know.
