Seeker posted a statusWe are promenading slowly toward the release of Kimberly Peirce's 'Carrie' remake. This take on Stephen King's novel, originally adapted by Brian De Palma, will star Chloe Moretz ('Kick-Ass') as the picked-on, telekinetic teen. This first teaser trailer for the remake has just arrived. Talk about cutting to the chase, I know teasers are limited in terms of both content and time allotted, but wow. I will say it does a decent job hitting upon that climatic scene; establishing the hellish consequences of bullying little Carrie White. Take a look at the teaser below and let us know what you think.

Comment by Robert Michel on October 18, 2012 at 9:18am Intrigued, is what I am. Can't say much about the film yet, obviously, but at least that is one damn fine teaser.

Comment by Peter Jackson on October 17, 2012 at 1:19pm @Unsocial yeah I can see that. I really can't make any assumptions right now because it's just a teaser. I would have to see the film before I make any assumptions.
Comment by Unsocial_Mistress on October 17, 2012 at 12:18pm @ Peter - I think the original worked best because of the time it came out. People were either in those overly religious families or grew up with people that were in those situations, so they could relate better. But now, most will just see it as some anti-Christan, anti-bullying movie.
Comment by CoffeeSpill on October 17, 2012 at 10:59am Story-wise Titanic was much better than Avatar, I agree. Avatar just made me mad at how 'vanilla' it was.
That said, I still think Titanic was 'good'. I am not a fanboi over it or anything, but I'm not a 'hate anything' popular guy either. Honestly Titanic was the first movie that popped into my head when thinking about movies where most already know the ending to a degree.
Comment by c clark on October 17, 2012 at 10:51am @CoffeeSpill,
You lost me when when you said titanic was "still good." That movie was a floating turd larger than the iceberg that sunk the ship. Forgettable actors and acting, much like Cameron's other epic turd "Avatar" the characters and the plot are ham fisted at best, nothing more than a mid-schoolers attemtp to write a story. The movies are nothing more than vessals for Cameron to play with the newest special effect toys. Who needs a story when you got computer driven images to ooooh and aaaah the crowds.
Comment by Peter Jackson on October 17, 2012 at 10:44am @ Unsocial that's a good call because they are going closer to the book with all of the interviews and supposed found footage scenes which were from the book. I like the original and I dug the TV NBC did about a decade ago. I'm not really excited for this movie but it looks good so far. I just don't think that they could top the total douchery of a young John Travolta.
Comment by mjtfreeze on October 17, 2012 at 10:14am Don't really care. But I'll watch it, just because of Chloe and the production value.
Comment by CoffeeSpill on October 17, 2012 at 9:04am Yeah we know the ending. I thought the same when Titanic came out, but it was still good.
Chloe looks great here, I am sure she will do a good job.
Timing of the film is weird, with the Amanda Todd suicide from Bullying recently. Wonder if they thought about that, eh?
I totally agree with Unsocial, how cool and daring would it be(unfortunately) to of cast a a chunky girl with acne burning up the cast of Mean Girls :p
Comment by John Lemus on October 17, 2012 at 7:49am The way I feel is had it been any other actress in the role of Carrie I would have been pissed. If it would not have been her it would have most likely have been Kristen Stewart. I think she is in way too much stuff already. And shes not even a good actress or remotely cute. I mean seriously the only role that I think she should do is Courtney Love in a Hole or Nirvana Bio Pick. Don't ask me why but I just think that role would be perfect for Kristen Stewart. Maybe because I would like to see her strung out on crack or almost overdose.
