First Teaser Trailer For 'A Good Day To Die Hard'

Well here it is, our first real glimpse at the fifth entry in the 'Die Hard' franchise. It's a teaser, so obviously we can't discern enough from it to assume we know what the whole movie will be like, but it also does little to assuage my lingering doubts. I like the clever use of Beethoven's "Ode to Joy;" so indelible to this franchise. But why is there a chick randomly getting naked? Is McClane going to have to save all of Russia from terrorists? Remember when he was just a put-upon cop in a high-rise? Take a look at the teaser below and let us know what you think.

'A Good Day to Die Hard' hits theaters February 14th, 2013

The only difference I saw in the John McClane character in Die Hard 4 was that he was older and more mature, which was a good thing! But he still cracked jokes every once and a while, and continued to kill bad guys in a badass way! As for his personality, I am glad that they started to show his character mature a little bit, as opposed to actors like Will Smith that are still trying to be hip young kids, but in reality are almost 50!

The point is, we got to see John McClane mature a little bit in Die Hard 4, (dealing with his mistakes in Die Hard 3), the best scenes in Die Hard 4, for me, were the scenes with him and his daughter, and the scenes giving his back story to Justin Long. I just really like seeing what they are doing with his character, and I never felt like he was a "generic" action hero at all. In this teaser, we don't really see his relationship with him and his son, but, the McClane joke in the end was nice. I just hope they keep his character a little bit older and more mature. I don't really care if this is PG-13 or R.

As long as they give us a complete "Yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker!" I"ll be fine :)

I don't see why BW's age has anything to do with his ability to pull off the JM role.  It was his signature role, so he can't possibly screw it up.  Besides, we don't poo-poo's the actor who plays the lead role in the Taken films, do we?

At least John McClane felt like John McClane in the the other sequels before Live Free and Die Hard, while in the fourth movie he felt more like a generic action hero

@ B.Bally, no offense, but Die Hard 3 was the only sequal that actually made sense as a sequal, but Die Hard 4 was just as logical as Die Hard 2, I don't understand ur logic. And I thought Die Hard 4 was an improvement over the other sequals, I thought the characters were written better. I just don't see what makes Die Hard 4 a generic action film over the other two sequals.

But, that's just my opinion of course. I love all the Die Hard films (and the original is clearly the best) and can't wait for Die Hard 5! :)

Well, I don't have much of a problem with Die Hard 2 and With a Vengeance (especially since DH 2 was a good sequel) but  Live Free and Die Hard felt more like a generic action film than a Die Hard film, with John becoming a generic action hero, which goes against what made the character unique to begin with. He was just a normal guy who got caught in dangerous situation.

Why do people who like the first die hard, have so much trouble with it's sequels?  It aren't suppose to be realistic movies.  The movies aren't supposed to be taken seriously.  It's supposed to be fun.  And they all succeeded in that as far as I'm concerned.

Smack talk all you want haters. This movie looks fun and action pack. I'm always up for a good Die Hard movie. I have loved every movie in the whole series, even the third and fourth one.

John McClane is an old school kind of movie action hero that doesn't need gadgets or cool Bieber hair. He'll go into a firefight bald and kicking all kinds of ass.

I'd like to see John McClane vs Brian Mills (Liam Neeson), or at least a team up
