First Poster For 'Silent Hill: Revelation 3D'

The sequel to 2006's 'Silent Hill,' based on the popular videogame series, is intensifying its marketing as October approaches. 'Silent Hill: Revelation,' directed by 'Solomon Kane's Michael J. Bassett, will feature a 3D return to that fateful town. I like that the poster features Pyramid Head prominently, as he was the most visually striking element of the first film. Beyond that, I still don't see too much to get excited about. Bassett's involvement does have me clinging to a modicum of hope however. Take a look at the poster below and let us know what you think.

'Silent Hill: Revelation' hits theaters October 26th

@Calvin

@CHAMBOSI SOUFFLE

Pyramid Head is not supposed to be there because Silent Hill has nothing to do with him. He's a minor monster of the whole serie. Silent Hill is about the creepiest town ever that fucks with your mind, reveals your biggest fears and lies. The monsters are shaped according to your memories but as this poster has been done it turned pyramid head into the main fear and the personnification of the serie. He's not Silent Hill's Jigsaw, Michael Myers, or Freddy Kruger. This is not about how huge pyramid head's sword is. If he is the only thing they remember from the game they already missed the point.

Yeh the advertising has been pretty poor but I guess there on a budget?

@calvin verry true, at least they are using characters from the film etc

Am I the only one who just found out that this and Resident Evil Retribution are coming out this year? I had no idea about either of them, and with RER coming out next week, I haven't seen a single thing of advertising or anything. Maybe these crappy video game movies are finally coming to a close and horror movies will get good again. I can't watch Cabin in the Woods forever, people.

@Chaos Jumper

That's possible, but it could just a marketing thing. He's the most memorable visual element from silent hill so it's obvious they'd want to show him as much as possible.

Pyramid Head? Great, now the whole movie is going to be about missing the point.

Oh it has one of those R words....It's going to be garbage, but then The Raid "Redemption" begs to differ.

@Chris-thulu considering they've managed to miss all the deeper points of their source material so far, I'd say that sounds about right. P:
